Barton Community College partners with several large natural gas companies to offer the only Natural Gas Technician training program in the region. To let people know about the opportunities for employment in the natural gas industry, Barton will host a Natural Gas Career Fair from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 22, at the KANSASWORKS Office, 1025 Main Street, Great Bend. Barton’s Natural Gas Transmission and Distribution Program Instructor Coordinator Mike Baugh, who works extensively with the natural gas companies, will lead this career fair and answer questions about the training needed to start a career in this high-demand, high-wage and high-skill industry. Natural gas continues to be the greenest of the non-renewable energy resources, Baugh said. Employment in the industry is expected to increase in the coming months, and interest in energy-related careers is at an all-time high. For more information, contact Baugh by phone, 620-792-9325, or by e-mail, baughm@bartonccc.edu. |
