 Byway Benefits - Local Byway Communities are Next Focus of Federal Advertising Grant
Last year the Wetlands & Wildlife National Scenic Byway, which runs through Barton, Stafford, and Reno Counties, received a $150,000 marketing grant from the Federal Highway Administration. This includes matching funds of $30,000 from Barton County. The Great Bend Convention & Visitors Bureau was responsible for the first phase of this byway marketing grant. Read more...

 A few years after CPI Qualified Plan Consultants opened in 1972, it became obvious it was doing something special. The East Coast and West Coast came calling and suggested the firm pack up and move to where the big boys and girls live and work. “We had retirement plan specialists from both coasts visiting our office,” recalled Bob Dema, CPI president and chief executive officer. “They all said we could do well if we would relocate. They confirmed what we already knew,” Dema continued. “What we had to offer could be sold nationally. So we started opening field offices in various states in the late 1970s.” Read more... |

After an extended period of inactivity, the Barton County Young Professionals group is soon to be revitalized! The Barton County Young Professionals group is targeted for people who live and/or work in the Barton County area between the ages of 21 and 40. Membership in the group will be entirely voluntary, and no outside time commitment will be required.
